“How you’re connected” – A New Feature on LinkedIn

no. 1 professional website LinkedIn has now come up with a new feature. It will help the users more efficiently get in touch with new people by introducing themselves in a much better manner. The “How you’re connected” feature will help the users to see how each of your contacts are linked with each other. Previously, the LinkedIn website used to show the mutual connections between a user and you.

This improved way to find connections will now help you to pick the path which has the strongest links with the one you need to connect to. This simply lets you connect with the other in a much refined manner. When you will be able to connect with other users on LinkedIn in such an advanced manner, who you think can help you in your professional background, the whole concept of LinkedIn will become easier for you. As a regular LinkedIn user myself, I know how much daunting it is to find someone who will suit our professional needs the best. But now, things will become easier.

So, with these particular features, whenever you will look for a new user to get connected on LinkedIn, whom you do not know well, you will be able to see your mutual connections and also you will get to know “how” they are connected to each other. This will help you to make the correct decisions in choosing them.

For example, suppose you are a business professional who wants to get in touch with the CEO or CMO of some other company which you would love to join in the near future. You might find a few mutual connections with him/her and LinkedIn will tell you how they are connected to each other. One of them might be a school friend of that CEO or CMO. The other might be a working professional at the same company. So, you will know that the latter one will know your target connection much better than the former mutual friend between you two.
